This year was a big year for soccer in Philly. We got 2 new professional teams, hosted international friendlies and saw a World Cup run like few others. That means a lot of great memories. We polled PSP’s contributors for their best 2010 soccer memories, and here they are. Come share yours.
The Americans needed all 90 minutes and then some to knock off Algeria and secure a spot in the knockout stages of the 2010 World Cup. They also needed their best player to come through on the biggest stage.
United States vs. England is getting all the press, but the other group matches will be more important in deciding who advances out of Group C. Algeria and Slovenia have the tools to make life miserable for the Yanks and the Brits.
