World

Jurgen Klopp and his men will never walk alone: Liverpool FC clinched their first Premier League title last night thanks to Chelsea’s victory over Manchester City.

Chelsea’s first goal was a one-man-show from Hershey’s Christian Pulisic.

FIFA awarded the 2023 Women’s World Cup to a joint bid from Australia and New Zealand. Let’s hope it’s safe to get on an airplane by then.

NWSL

American sports make their return this weekend with the NWSL Challenge Cup. Kickoff between North Carolina and Portland is at 12:30 Eastern from Utah, with coverage on CBS.

Positive COVID-19 tests kept Orlando Reign from participating in the tournament. A second round of tests came back negative or inconclusive.

USWNT midfielder Allie Long spent lockdown becoming a superstar on Twitch. (Go figure: she’s good at FIFA.)

MLS / Union

Teams are trickling in to the MLS bubble in Orlando, with “hosts” Orlando City joining San Jose yesterday.

It is just so weird to see Kevin Durant tweeting about the Union.

Loving the KD publicity. Also that’s a really nice goal from Pulisic. Hopefully he can expand American interest in soccer overseas, which will lead to interest locally. The downside, however, is that would mean more Chelsea fans lol
