The Town Hall event featuring Ernst Tanner and Tim McDermott is tonight at 7pm.

The finishing wasn’t there Saturday night, but were the strikers out of position as well?

So you’re saying there’s a chance? According to FiveThirtyEight, the Union have a chance at MLS Cup.

  1. There’s probably some truth to that park the striker in between the posts logic in mls.com, particularly in a 2 striker system. Kacper should be that guy when we’re in possession in the final third. Get those scrappy tap in from 5 yards out kind of goals, a la CJ in his peak year. They all count just the same.

  2. Re: Manchester City/Var controversy — I’m no fan of City, but I think they’ve every right to be aggrieved at the state of officiating. Yes, VAR was only helping enforce what is a poorly written law. But it’s the microscopic detail involved in VAR that I just can’t get behind. I’d rather it left to ref’s discretion. Really. Even if that means the calls are technically less accurate. I don’t want the employment of microscopic detail in the officiating of matches. It stinks.

    • Andy Muenz says:

Then you might as well get rid of VAR because that was as clear and obvious as they come. VAR picked up something the ref didn’t see and that is its purpose. The whole thing took less time than City would have spent celebrating the goal.

      • I think my main problem in the City thing is the law, for sure. But I don’t like having everything analyzed at a microscopic level. You have to ask yourself, too, if you really want to be involved in this forensic analysis that’s actually going to reduce the number of goals scored in a game that generally could use a few more. I’d just rather live without it.

  3. Will the town hall be streamed live or video taped ??

Welcome to MLS Saint Louis….Sacramento you’re on the clock

    • Old Soccer Coach says:

Sacramento has been on the clock since before the FC Cincinnati admission. Since then, Nashville, Miami, now St. Louis.
      .
MLS is setting itself up tobe taken to court, at which point the legal discovery process will reveal all the hidden secrets of expansion bribery, cheating, corruption, and criminality.
      .
It is Major League Soccer making up the rules as it goes along. Generally speaking, the law does not approve of that, since the point of Law, at least all of it descended from the Romans, is predictability.

    • John O'Donnell says:

Well done Old Soccer Coach, you’ve created a conspiracy theory without any proof to back up your statement. Twitter would be so proud. You’ve been awarded the Tinfoil Ted Award.

  6. Marco Fabian interacted with a fan on Twitter who said he should come back to Chivas Guadalajara. Just sayin’.
