Union
The Union play the New England Revolution tomorrow night at 10:30pm on ESPN2 in the first knockout round of the MLS is Back Tournament.
Watch Brenden Aaronson’s interview from yesterday.
The Union were left out of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s big “sports are back!” announcement yesterday, and Union Twitter had a field day. They added an addendum crediting all of Jonathan Tannenwald’s great work soon after.

Here’s what happened yesterday:
- Chicago Fire FC fell to the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0, eliminating Chicago from the tournament while Vancouver advances.
- The LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo tied 1-1, with neither team advancing.
- LAFC and the Portland Timbers tied 2-2, and both teams advance with Portland winning the group.
Some tactical previews to the next round of the tournament.
World
USWNT and Washington Spirit midfielder Rose Lavelle is drawing interest from Manchester City.
America loves Christian Pulisic and that’s okay.
Yesterday in Serie A Lazio beat Cagliari 2-1 and Udinese beat Juventus 2-1.
Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren is set to move to Zenit St Petersburg for €12m.
Hopefully Union II can do better than their last two debacles.
.
Was disappointed last night when I saw LA Galaxy had tied it in stoppage time as a Houston win would have kept NYCFC out of the knockout round. At least NYRB didn’t make it.
