Clicking on the DC United link in the one-liner above gives you tidbits about what an MLS schedule in home markets might look like after the tournament is over.
    .
It is a Washington Post story by Steven Goff. Goff is to DC United as Jim Salisbury is to the Phillies or Ray Didinger is to the Eagles, from the limited perspective of an observer fro outside the home market.

  2. Phil in Wilmington says:

Mad Respect to Ray Gaddis. Every winning locker room needs a guy that shows up week in and week out and simply GETS IT DONE. There may have been flashier players during this club’s history, but make no mistake, he is one of the greats.

  3. Nice to see these roundups again. And to see the Union beat up teams that should be winning based on their owner’s wallets.

Well said. Poor David Beckham. Poor Atlanta. Poor LA (both). And finally… poor NYC. Have fun watching the rest of the tourney from your baseball field, jerks.

  4. Ray Gaddis. Union Legend.
    .
Start the damn Ring of Honor campaign now… cause apparently, some people think he isn’t worthy.

    • HopkinsMD says:

There is no question when you hit 200 starts and actually keep improving, which he is doing from my view.

      • SilverRey says:

I might be a Gaddis critic, but I’ll be the first to say that he’s been adding new facets to his game over the last year in this new system.
        .
AND starting to achieve a bit of success with the new skills.
        .
Is this the year we riot? I mean, Kai just scored…

      • Chris Gibbons says:

The improvements are the most important piece of his legacy. He spent so much time platooning in different defensive spots and then in different systems that he’s only just recently started to come into his own. Both Castellanos on NYC and Pizarro on Miami were fuming at how badly Ray was shutting them down.

  5. Ray has long been a true team player! He has been improving his game from year one as mentioned above! Also a leader on and off the field. He is always seen at games talking to kids and a few years ago he sayt on the pitch a young fan during the fireworks. Just a class act!

  6. In Tanner We Trust says:

Just a thought to go along with what some of you are saying: altho I’m very grateful for everything Bedoya, Blake, Carroll, etc have done for the team, Ray has to be the 2nd name honored. He has to be.
