Philadelphia Union

Andre Blake was a busy man Sunday (would’ve been busier if the defense hadn’t blocked 13 shots). Blake earns himself a spot in the MLS Team of the Week.

The Union had trouble finishing this past month. They still scored some great goals. Vote for the goal of the month here.

Have Kacper Przybylko and Serigo Santos earned the starting striker roles?

Haris Medunjanin doesn’t score often. When he does, its a thing of beauty. Vote f0r goal of the week here.

REMINDER: PSP Will be hosting a tailgate before the Red Bulls game to raise funds for the site. Stop on by and grab some grub!

Toronto FC are upgrading their defense with USMNT veteran Omar Gonzalez. He’ll be available starting July 7th.

MLS was surprisingly lacking in red cards this past weekend.

  1. in real time, I thought maybe Mane meant to hit Sissoko’s arm with that chip, and ever since I saw the first replay, I’ve been sure of it

    • I’m a Liverpool fan and think Mane did it on purpose, too. And I don’t blame him. Surely Sissoko could have urged a teammate without looking like he was hailing a cab. Trying to decipher intent in these things is really folly, though. A defender should really just learn not to make himself bigger by stretching his massive arm out like that. People have said they’ve seen similar waved off in the halcyon days before VAR, but I can’t recall any such incident.

The PSP tailgate… Lot A? Time? Unless I missed it, I didn’t see details. I’ll be in Lot A Saturday and would love to stop by

U-20’s beat France 3-2 after being down 2-1. McKenzie came on at the start of stoppage time. Both teams that were perfect in group play (France and Uruguay) lost in the round of 16. USA plays Ecuador (who beat Uruguay) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 11:30am on FS2.

Mo Edu did the commentary for today’s game.

Wasn’t able to watch, but followed Ives commentary on Twitter. Did they play well? Get lucky? Chances against Ecuador?

      • A good bit of luck but they also played well. Had a few chances not finished as did France. McKenzie again committed a dumb foul shortly after coming on but ref played advantage and France could not generate anything. Right outside the box in the dying minutes so would have been a good free kick opportunity to tie up the game.

  4. Best comment on the MUFC game was from a Minnesota fan but I can’t recall where I saw it. Basically said he was going to comment on the game but the Union would probably just block it so why even try.
