In case you’re the rare ticket-holder who doesn’t know, Sunday’s Philadelphia Union match is postponed till Sept. 7.

The Philadelphia Independence are still on today at 4 p.m. for the WPS title game against the Western New York Flash. Here’s an account of their last practice.

ESPN talked to both WPS teams before the match, which will be televised today on CSN.

Sure enough, Chivas USA once again didn’t take the guy, passing on Sammy Ochoa. In related news, they plan to pretend they have a team again next year.

The AP has a broad look at financial problems facing European soccer clubs. Considering the economic problems battering the continent, I think it’s fair to say that European soccer is in a tad bit of trouble.

The only MLS game on national TV today is on at 10:30 at night. Yes, we’re glad to see you go, Fox Soccer Channel. You can keep your Arsenal-Manchester United match tomorrow. (Oh … wait.)
