After a World Cup filled with glorious highs and stunning lows, the Philadelphia Union and Major League Soccer are back.
For the Union, they’re also returning with a new Head Coach, a new Sporting Director, and perhaps a new and old left back.

Better second half……If Quinn can return to form quickly and they acquire a solid centerback they will become a contender for a playoff spot this year. Maybe Glesnes can come back too. ( LOL) At least the management has made a strong move to improve the second half. Tanner F’ d up by letting Wagner go from the beginning. There are a ton a better options at Centerback available whose contracts were not renewed in Europe and are more experienced than McKanya. A quality MLS back up might be there only option because of the DP situation. Looking forward to a better second half. This offense could be legitimate if both Sullivan’s are healthy and playing with Iloski. There has to be a better option from the USL that they can pick up for depth at centerback. Harriel is is fine for now at right back. Worry about that bext year. Get a Centerback now ! Optimistic now. This move should boost everyone’s morale.
It’s somewhat poetic they gave Kai his desired chance at big(ish) time European football and he did well. It’s a bit Donovan-at-Everton-esque too, where he did well, proved he could do it, and came back home. That Kai wanted to come back “home” to Philly at all is a testament to the community here and not worth overlooking.
