In pictures: Philadelphia Union 4 – 0 Chicago Fire

The Philadelphia Union defeated the Chicago Fire by a score of 4-0 at Subaru Park on Saturday night, August 23rd, to retake first place in the Eastern Conference and a controlling interest in the race for the Supporter’s Shield with just five matches remaining in the regular season.

The Union began their scoring run with a goal from Tai Baribo that went through the legs of Fire goalkeeper Chris Brady and put Baribo in a tie for third in the league in goals scored at 16. In the second half, the Union broke the game open with goals from Kai Wagner, Danley Jean-Jacques and Milan Iloski, who scored his first goal for the club in MLS play after scoring his first goal of his Union career against the New York Red Bulls in the U.S. Open Cup.

The Union will play a “six-pointer” away against FC Cincinnati in their next match, which could decide the winner of the Supporter’s Shield when the regular season ends on October 18th.
