  1. Looks like the regular season is being pushed back a month and will start on April 3. The playoffs will start after the November international weekend.

    • Worth pointing out that the Union by making the Concacaf Champions League are not eligible for the Leagues Cup, and by not winning MLS Cup they are not eligible for the Campeones Cup.
      .
It is worth noting that the announcement from MLS that the Union retransmitted in its essentials says they will play announce a complete schedule once they do it. That suggests no phases or segments, as per last fall.
      .
The other major conundrum is the three Canadian teams re-entering Canada after playing in the US. My best thought is to figure out how NHL teams are being allowed to handle it, but I haven’t followed that up yet.

      • NHL broke into 4 divisions, East, Central, West, and North. By coincidence, the North division has all 7 Canadian teams and no US teams. All play until the Stanley Cup semifinals will be intra divisional so no border crossings until Julyish. So no help there.

      • Many thanks, Andy!

Earnie Stewart and Richie Graham still doing one another solids…

    Matt Freese?
    .
    Come on.

    • Wouldn’t you think Freese is clearly third, behind Turner and Marcinkowski and brought in basically for practice purposes primarily?
      .
Keepers are like baseball catchers. You never have enough them for practice purposes. The Union and Bethlehem always seem to have four on hand for practice. (I have never seen a Union II practice live, so necessarily exclude them, but I would expect the observation would continue to apply.)

Could be Tim. Your argument has merit.
        .
It’s a bit fishy to me though considering the guy seldom if ever plays MLS minutes…and really in the grand scheme of things… irrelevant. I’m just looking to make a typically obtrusive post.

      • Its Camp Cupcake and a ton of players are unavailable due to club schedules. Also, they brought in more U-23 players this cycle because they’re focusing on Olympic Qualifying.

No one is saying Matt Freese is a top 3 Goalie in the US with this call in, more that he’s a young player they want to keep tabs on.

      • el Pachyderm says:

        fair rebut as well.

      • This is U23, AND he was also an injury sub.
