I forgot about the CB battle. Imagine having McKenzie, Elliott, or Glesnes on the bench! What a good problem to have.

    .

McKenzie and Glesnes had a great chemistry in our last game, but I feel like you can’t leave out Elliott. I’m glad I’m not in charge of this decision. Hopefully there’s a rotation of some kind to keep all 3 fresh for a possibly grueling season.

    • In addition to CB I think there are two other major positional battles to keep an eye on: CDM and ST.
      .
CDM – Preseason it seemed like Oravec was going to be the starter but Creavalle and Martinez each got a start before the shutdown.
ST – Santos looked really dangerous and Przybylko was the leading scorer last season, but Przybylko was COVID positive during the break so maybe that opens the door for Wooten if he is a little rusty or unfit. Then you also have Burke returning in mid-season form from playing in Europe.

      • Tim Jones says:

If Burke doesn’t sit in further INS limbo. Jim Curtin has been cautious about that.

      • In Tanner We Trust says:

Oh CDM is another. I remember saying after the LAFC game that Martinez needs to make an appearance in every game, whether it’s at 6, 8, or RB. He’s simply too destructive to be sitting on the bench. And I’ve heard a lot of good things about Oravec but truthfully I don’t know enough to about him to weigh in there.

  2. Andy Muenz says:

Bruce Arena got the anthem question right when he pointed out that the players aren’t representing their country (at least in league games) so why bother to play the national anthem at all?

    • Tim Jones says:

Agreed. I don’t tear up for Phillies games or Union ones.

I have been known to during the Olympics upon special occasion.
      .
But imagine how the political right wing will react to the idea.
