  1. Congrats to Bedoya on the contract extension! Now go get it!

  2. I feel like based on last season’s performance that Doyle is selling the Union a bit short. Would have thought we deserved a “contender” space every bit as much as Columbus Crew. I know MLS is a bit volatile, but we finished 17 points ahead of them last season. I don’t mind the league having low expectations, though. It’s OK with me.

    • Five Thirty Eight ranks the Union 4th and gives us a 6% chance of winning MLS cup — same as NYCFC and behind only Atlanta and LAFC.

The first round of CCL was quite entertaining. Sad no real coverage of it. Interestingly enough was the struggle of Liga MX teams in this first round. Evidently LAFC did something no other team in Liga MX has done this year and score three goals on León while shutting the team out. It’s also good to see the central American teams not being such an easy game anymore. Congratulations to Olimpia for scoring the late goal on the road and winning on penalties. Also Montreal just looks like such a different team when they play in CCL in the dome. Hopefully the next round is also as entertaining. Just don’t think we’ll see a goalie score in extra time to win the game.
