Here is the complete list of available players in the Expansion Draft.

Thierry Henry is back in MLS, this time as coach of the Montreal Impact.

New York’s Aaron Long is being linked with a Premier League move again.

Who’s still looking for a coach this offseason?

Brian Fernandez is no longer a member of the Portland Timbers.

Is Mario Mandzukic heading to MLS?

So you’re saying there’s a chance Jamiro Monterio returns to the Union?

The USMNT got back 0n track with a 4-1 win over Canada.

Brazil defeated Mexico to take the U-17 World Cup title.

A record Women’s Super League crowd took in Arsenal vs Tottenham.

Finland have qualified for the their first Euro Championships ever.

Virgil Van Dijk will miss the Netherlands match against Estonia.

  1. Interesting that the Union protected Monteiro. I wonder if that indicates they believe there’s still a chance to acquire him – either through purchase, or some sort of loan extension. Because if there’s no chance to keep him, I see no reason to protect him.

    • OneManWolfpack says:

Agreed on this. I am guessing they wouldn’t want him selected by, let’s say, Miami – who then spends the money to fully acquire him… money that the Union can’t or won’t spend. This basically covers the Union on that, covers them in case there is still a chances he comes back, and makes sure that if the Union can;t have him, no one in MLS will. Again… this is all just my guess

  2. Is the protection of Wooten a sign of their regard for him? Why not protect Ngalina?

    • OneManWolfpack says:

I believe Wooten was signed to a year and half contract… usually what happens when you come over mid-season. I am assuming they want him, given the money they are on the hook for. As for Ngalina, I am assuming they would think he is an unproven entity and that an expansion side wouldn’t want someone who most likely isn’t ready to play full time yet.
