MLS Sunday fun day marathon was quite enjoyable with packed crowds in the stadium and games filled with drama. It’s amazing how much more enjoyable MLS is when your team is in the hunt for dare I say…..the playoff push.

I’ll never understand why people get so worked up about spitting, but leg breaking tackles are “just part of the game” or “getting stuck in.” I know I’d rather have got spit on a few years ago instead of losing half a year to a broken ankle because of a cheap tackle.

    • Because the latter can sometimes be excused as “poor timing” or “he didn’t realize he was going in that hard” — sometimes true, sometimes not — but you have no excuse whatsoever for spitting. Kinda like, y’know, biting someone.

I was in Guadelajara over the weekend. In our hotel the whole Chivas team stayed. Seems it is customary to stay in that hotel before HOME games. On Friday night ended up with 6 Chivas players in the elevator (pretty cool!). Then on Saturday night ended up in the elevator with 3 Chivas fans who were super happy after Chivas had won 3-0. Think they do the same in the EPL (staying in a hotel before a home game); interesting concept.
