  1. No disrespect to Marco, but have any of the “members of the media” actually been following the Union this year? In what world does he get nominated over Wagner, Jamiro or Aaronson? This clearly has nothing to do with on-field performance but rather is a blatant marketing/PR move. I get that this is a business and have nothing against marketing, but All-Star selections should only be based on performance.

  2. Couldn’t agree with you more…

  3. Bold move by Philly PR to have Phang cheer on a staged act of vandalism. How soon before the stunt is blamed for an actual act of vandalism to a fan’s actual car when these team’s meet for real?

I appreciate your diplomatic use of the word “bold.”
      .
It will be difficult for them to defend this PR stunt… a classic “intent vs. impact” case.
      .
Of course, I’m making the assumption that it is not their intent to (1) endorse vandalism as funny or encourage others to vandalize or (2) appeal to the hooligan marketing demographic.

  4. MLS: What is everyone doing for Soccer For All Month?
    SKC: We’re releasing a pride-themed kit.
Timers: We’re partnering with Special Olympics Oregon
LAFC: We’re celebrating women in sports
Union: We’re planning a publicity stunt where our mascot encourages people to destroy a rival fan’s car.
    MLS: *facepalm*

Both McKenzie and Real are on the bench today against Ukraine. Apparently McKenzie is not yet match fit.
