Tuesday news roundups are back! I had a baby! She’s pretty cool! It’s good to be back in the saddle so let’s get to it.

Philadelphia Union

A deep analytical season preview of the Union at American Soccer Analysis. A must read.

All eyes are on Marco Fabian and Toronto FC’s stars ahead of their season-opening clash.

More on Fabian at ESPNFC.

Academy

Union youth teams are making a run at the Generation Adidas Cup.

MLS

Orlando City sign Portuguese star Nani from Sporting CP. Like all of Orlando City, this will either be amazing or a complete tire fire.

New York Red Bulls re-sign Defender of the Year (and USMNT skipper) Aaron Long to a deserved raise.

CONCACAF Champion’s League

CCL begins tonight! If you haven’t watched CONCACAF Champion’s League before, do it! One of the craziest tournaments on the planet.

Houston Dynamo and Toronto FC each start play tonight in the tournament with away fixtures in Central America.

Bobby Warshaw looks at MLS’ teams chances of winning the CCL cup.

Will this finally be the year for an MLS squad?

U.S. Soccer

Jurgen Klinsmann put the cherry on his grift of U.S. Soccer Federation with an additional $3.5M settlement from the organization. Woof.

Nani had old legs three years ago. What is Orlando thinking….black eye on the league, you ask me.

Depressing to hear Houston is playing tonight.

  7. Normally Andy I would agree about Houston, but not with this year’s system makeover. all the extra practice they can get seems like a good thing.

  8. It’s tough to read too much into that MLSSoccer.com article considering the author got the Union’s former formation wrong. After 5 years, that might be a detail worth getting right.
