Union

The Union are kicking off the 2019 season at home against Toronto FC on Saturday, March 2nd.

Here’s an early look at Toronto FC and the 2019 home opener match.

Rosenberry was traded to the Colorado Rapids. Tanner said “it was a tough decision” and Peter Andrews breaks it down.

Mark McKenzie is Phang’s BFF.

MLS

MLS was named Yahoo Finances’ Sports Business of the Year. The MLS was also named the most responsible soccer league in the world.

Nashville made their second signing before their debut season, signing 2018 USL Golden Boot winner, Cameron Lancaster.

LA Galaxy re-sign Chris Pontius for next season.

Orlando City SC signs two of USL Champions’ Louisville City’s best, Greg Ranjitsingh and Kyle Smith.

USL

The USL 2019 season schedule was released. The Steel will play Birmingham Legion FC on March 9th, and the first home game (in Chester) will be on March 16 against North Carolina FC.

10 rivalry matches to watch in 2019, including Bethlehem vs. Pittsburgh on March 30th.

Santa and Mrs. Claus visited the USL HQ.

US

Berhalter’s first USMNT roster for January camp is here. Mark McKenzie and Auston Trusty are both on the roster and are pumped to go to camp together.

World

It’s the best of the world’s best (but mostly worst) sports video clips from 2018.

India Super League star, Gourav Mukhi has been suspended after lying about his age. He claimed to be 16 when he’s actually 28. For two months he was known as the youngest goal scorer ever in the history of the league.

After the sacking of Mourinho, Manchester United’s Solskjær says he’s going to focus on having the players love playing the game again. So now the question has been thrown out: should Jose Mourinho come to the MLS to coach?

Mike Piazza and his wife owned A.C. Reggiana, a third-tier Italian team for two years and let’s just say it was such a disaster that a few death threats were painted on the club’s headquarters by the time they left.

Mike Piazza. What a saga. Invest in a small professional team with dreams and aspirations to live out your days in a northern Italian city quietly employing catennacio… then a jet engine lands in your bedroom and you find yourself staring in the mirror living an alternate reality.

and i find it kinda funny
    i find it kinda sad
the dreams in which I’m dying
are the best i ever had.

  2. I thought of Mourinho at Galaxy right away, too. He’d feel right at home with Zlatan, one of the few players around who still really likes him. Jose could use some sunshine, the break…. If he could bring Fellani with him, he’d be all set. Would love having Mourinho in MLS. The league could really use the narrative.
