The Union won their 9th home game of the year. Young player Marcus Epps scored the opening goal, Andre Blake performed his favorite magic trick “I will now make this goal disappear” a few times, and Alberg salted it away late. More from MLS.

Sunday saw turbulence in Catalonia, as the Catalans voted for independence from Spain, spurred on by police violence by the Spanish against them. Highlight of the day

Arsenal passes right through the back line to set up a pretty finish.

  1. Sanchez’ back heel assist was something else. Highlight of the weekend. …. On the bright side for U fans, at least we’re not Crystal Palace supporters. That team is really grim. If Hodgson can save that side from relegation, it will be a miracle at this point.

  2. OneManWolfpack says:

I know it wasn’t Seattle’s A squad, but I was just genuinely happy with the way the Union played yesterday. If they could do this more often than once a month (maybe) they’d actually be a playoff team. I fully expected a loss today, so well done Union.
And yeah that CP situation is unreal. No wins and no goals is truly a feat of futility.

    • -17 goal differential….

    • Frustratingly they’ve gotten all the help they needed from other teams, like the Red Bulls losing, but they haven’t gotten the results on their own end. 3 games stand out – 3-3 vs Montreal in April; the late goal in San Jose; and the late goal at home against Atlanta. 1 win there and we are 2 points out of the playoffs. 2 wins and we are tied for the final playoff spot.
