Philadelphia Union

Yes, it happened again. After a Josh Yaro red card, Philadelphia Union dropped their lead to draw Atlanta 2-2. Match report from PSP. More from Philadelphia Union, MLS, and CSN. Also, Keegan Rosenberry started at right back.

Post-game video and analysis plus Jim Curtin’s press conference.

Bruce Arena has named his World Cup Qualifying roster, and unsurprisingly, Alejandro Bedoya made the cut. As per usual, Andre Blake was called up to Jamaica’s squad as well.

As part of an effort to help with pediatric cancer, the Union wore special cleats on Sunday.

Kléberson will be coaching in the Union Academy.

Maurice Edu played another match with Bethlehem Steel, who fell 2-3 against Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

The Houston-Kansas City match was postponed due to Hurricane Harvey. PSP’s thoughts are with the Houston area and those affected.

Including Bedoya, 18 MLS players were named to Arena’s 26-man roster.

Rivals Portland and Seattle fought it out to a 1-1 draw.

With 10 men, LA Galaxy lost to San Jose 0-3.

Around the Globe

Kylian Mbappe looks set to join Paris-St. Germain. To comply with FFP rules, PSG will take Mbappe on a one-year lone and sign him permanently next summer.

Borussia Dortmund have signed Ukranian winger, Andriy Yarmolenko to replace Ousmane Dembele. Good news for the club. Less than ideal news for Christian Pulisic, who has started in Dembele’s place in both Dortmund’s games and played excellently.

Liverpool crushed Arsenal 4-0.

Cameron-Carter Vickers is officially with Sheffield United, and he’s been earning praise.

  1. Andriy Yarmolenko is 27 years old and has been playing in a weak league. I don’t think Pulisic has much to worry about, especially having seen BVB on television Saturday. Pulisic was frequently driving into the center and was effective. He may remain in the starting XI even if Yarmolenko lines up at right winger. If the two players are meant to complete for the same position, I’d say it’s a 50-50 contest.

  2. Unless they are getting ready to sell Pulisic.
    There have been offers.

  3. On the plus side, it looks like Haris was not called up by Bosnia which will give him a week off rather than a huge amount of extra travel.
