After all the waivers, drafts, trials and other mechanisms MLS uses to move players around the country, it can be difficult to remember where everyone landed. This offseason has seen it’s share of movement for our local lads. In order to make it easier to track our boys as the preseason winds down and first kick comes within sight, I have created the handy cheat sheet to let you know where players from around the region currently stand.
I have grouped the players by type of movement to make the cheat sheet a little easier to follow. I have also chosen not to include players in the lower levels of the American soccer pyramid (NASL and USL) because team rosters for those league are not currently available. Locals from one of those leagues known to be trialing with an MLS club, as is the case with Ryan Richter, have been included.

How about Vincenzo Bernardo? I believe he trialed with the Union a few years ago and played with Napoli’s youth academy. Holds dual US-Italian citizenship and I believe may be playing in Austria now. Played with him in Italy for a while — great little player.

Great suggestion, but if I’m not mistaken, Bernardo would be better classified as a local to New York, as he hails from Morristown, NJ. We do have some others on this list who are from that neck of the woods, but in these cases they have other ties back to Philly, be they college (Seamon), a Union-affiliated youth program (Allen, Okafor, Sadaoui), or Home Grown Player status (Hernandez).
Thanks. All I knew was that he trialed with the Union at some point – probably during the first or second season.
Thanks for the cheat sheet! What a great idea and a quick way to keep track during the season. I’ll bookmark this one for gametimes!
Good information to read about. Actually I am trying to locate Vicenzo’s dad, we were friends for a long time, he played youth soccer with my boys.
