Union-MLS-City Hall press conference scheduled for Tuesday

Following the announcement by the Philadelphia Union that a press conference has been scheduled for Tuesday at 11am to take place at City Hall in Center City Philadelphia, philly.com reports that the Union will host the 2012 MLS All-Star Game at PPL Park.

The press release from the Union says that team CEO Nick Sackiewicz, MLS Commissioner Don Garber, Chester Mayor John Linder and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter are all scheduled to be in attendance.

The philly.com report says “multiple sources” have confirmed that the Union will host the All-Star game but both the date of the game and the opponent are at present unknown.

Reports of the press conference began to circulate on Twitter soon after the Sons of Ben Help Kick Charity event on Saturday. This quickly led to speculation that the press conference would be used to announce
