The Philadelphia Union announced on Tuesday that its home opener will take place at PPL Park on Sunday, March 18.
The time and opponent will be announced at a later date.
The 2012 MLS season will officially commence on the weekend of March 10. Six games will take place on Saturday, March 10 at Colorado Rapids, D.C. United, LA Galaxy, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC. On Sunday, March 11, Chivas USA and FC Dallas will host. Portland Timbers will open the season at home on Monday, March 12.
This marks the third year in a row that the Union will start the season on the road.
The home opener dates for all 19 clubs are:
