The Philadelphia Union announced on Friday that they have secured the rights to Colombian centerback Carlos Valdes.
Valdes had joined the Union on loan from Independiente Santa Fe of the Colombian First Division in January.
The Union also announced that the Carlos Ruiz move to second division Mexican side Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz was now official.
Per Major League Soccer and club policy, the terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
An article in Friday’s edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer quoted a source close to the Union as saying the club was in negotiations for a “young international striker” and that they “will make another move with one of their own players.” It is unclear at present whether “another move” refers to securing the rights to Valdes or a trade involving a player on the Union roster.
