White "finished" in Denmark, on to Philly?

I'm coming home to Philly! (or not ...)

Jeremiah White has not made the team at AGF Aarhus the last week and could be done in Denmark’s league, with a move to Philadelphia Union appearing increasingly likely.

A Danish TV station reported White, who hails from the Philadelphia area, is “finished” at Aarhus.

“I’ve been here almost three years – and it’s time to go,” White said, according to TV2 of Aarhus, Denmark.

There are conflicting reports that indicate White could remain with the team. With more than a year left on his contract, Aarhus is in the driver’s seat there.

White told me he’s still in Denmark packing for a prospective move, but his wife has begun looking for homes in the Philly area, according to her Facebook page.

Should White move to the Union, he would be the second Danish leaguer poached by Philadelphia. Center back Danny Califf cut his contract short to leave FC Midtjylland for a move to the Union.

White played his high school ball in Haverford and has bounced around Europe without ever taking a stab at Major League Soccer, and a move to his hometown team does seem likely. We wrote about his possible move a few weeks ago after various reports linked him to Philadelphia Union, when European soccer “reports” on potential transfers are involved, we’ll still wait till we see it to believe it.

  1. Dan,
Jeremiah is already back in Philly and has sold all his furniture in Denmark. He has been in contact with Union via his old Wake Forest teammate, new Union GK coach Vartughian.

We’ll see where this leads him.

  2. We’re definitely keeping an eye out. When he and I traded Facebook messages last week, he was still in Denmark packing up for the move. Anything you hear, please give us a shout. A potentially big signing, definitely.
