Union to train in Florida, then Greece

The Union’s preseason training schedule has become a little clearer with the news that the club will train for two weeks in Orlando, Fl. before heading to Greece for a further two weeks.

Before that, the Union will be training at YSC Sports in Wayne, PA., January 24 through January 28. Training sessions will be open to the public from 11am through 1pm.

In Orlando from January 31 through February 20, the Union will play a friendly against USL PRO club Orlando City on Saturday, February 19 . Tickets for the 7pm match will be available for $10–$15.

The Orlando training stint is the first of a four-year preseason arrangement sponsored by Bimbo.

No details are yet available of the trip to Greece, first reported by the Daily News. The article concludes, “In December, Union manager Peter Nowak did reveal his intent to take his players ‘away from their comfort zone’ and ‘out of their element’ in hopes of improving a dismal away record in 2010.”

I think I speak for all Union supporters when I say, “May it have the desired effect.”
