A win’s a win for the Union who will be glad to bring three points back from the west coast despite a less than stellar performance. Suspensions to Gabriel Farfan and Keon Daniel will hurt the team in the short term, though.

Michael Farfan’s brilliance became Freddy Adu’s first goal of the season. Adu backheeled the winner beyond Dan Kennedy, and the Union held on with nine men to earn a difficult road victory.
The Union right back broke his mouth, played out of position, took some hard knocks to the head, and still put in a great shift to help secure a clean sheet against Columbus.
