The Union kick off preseason at 11am today, while the Union II got a preseason win yesterday. MLS teams are back playing in preseason friendlies, with several in action today and yesterday. Bayern Munich increased their lead in the Bundesliga, while Erik Lamela had a memorable day.
The Union’s longest tenured player, Ray Gaddis, has announced his retirement after 9 seasons with the team. The Union are adding more depth, as Joe Bendik returns for another season. It was a busy soccer weekend around the globe, with the Manchester Derby and Der Klassiker. A number of Americans in Europe also scored for their club teams.
The Union have their first offseason transfer, while their new kit is still being raved about. Thierry Henry has left the Montreal coaching position, and Inter Miami is expecting big things in 2021. Bayern Munich got an important win with RB Leipzig hot on their heels, while Manchester United drew with Chelsea.
The Union have the CONCACAF Champions League dates, with Saprissa coming to Chester on April 14th. Teams around the league continue to fill out their offseason rosters, with the Union yet to make a signing. Man City keeps winning, while Everton also picked up a big win over Liverpool.
The Union have their first transfer rumor of the offseason, and just found out when they can open preseason. Orlando City boosted their attacking prospects, while Toronto looks to do the same. Liverpool has another goalkeeper blunder, while Man City keeps winning.
A couple of Union homegrowns made their European debuts this weekend, while another got his first call up to the USMNT. The SuperDraft happened over the week, with each team adding players except the Union. A couple of USMNT players made an impact for their clubs, while the USWNT eased past Colombia.
Mark McKenzie is on his way to Belgium, while another Union homegrown is heading to a USMNT camp. The Montreal Impact are releasing their rebrand soon, with the Chicago Fire redesigning their crest soon as well. The FA Cup brought some craziness, as did the Bundesliga with many Americans showcasing.
The Union II released their roster decisions for the 2021 season on Friday, while LAFC kept alive the dream of a MLS CONCACAF Champions League title. It was a busy weekend across Europe, with big games in the Bundesliga and Premier League, and two USMNT players facing off in Spain.
