This evening, Wednesday, October 14th, the Philadelphia Union begins the 15-day stretch of the season that will determine whether they will rise enough in the MLS Eastern Conference table to host a home playoff game.

We give the eastern conference standings as they were Monday morning, October 12th, together with the season’s earlier results against those teams.

Day, Date

Venue, OPPONENT Standings, Mo Oct-12 Previous 2026 result
We, Oct-14 Away, CHICAGO 3rd

Mar-21, Home, Loss, 2-1

Sa, Oct-17

Home, CHARLOTTE 5th Apr-4 ,Away, Loss, 2-1
Sa, Oct-24 Home, NEW ENGLAND 4th

May-9, Away, Loss, 2-1

We, Oct-28

Away, NASHVILLE 1st

May-2, Home, Draw, 0-0

The three previous losses were all by one goal.  Also, Nashville have already clinched a playoff spot, and they are still able to set a new record for total points in a season.

Philadelphia’s maximum possible total points for the season is 60. Nashville already has accumulated 63, so Philadelphia cannot finish in first place in the conference.
