In pictures: United States Women’s 1-2 Portugal

The USWNT lost 2-1 to Portugal in a friendly at Subaru Park. A surprising defeat where Portugal secured their first-ever win against the US, thanks to goals from Diana Gomes (41′) and Fátima Pinto (72′), despite an early Rose Lavelle goal for the Americans (33 seconds). The USWNT, under Emma Hayes, appeared rusty after a long break, struggled with possession and set pieces, and faced a well-organized Portuguese side that capitalized on defensive errors for their comeback win.
