On July 26th the Philadelphia Union hosted the Colorado Rapids in a match ending 3-1. Colorado struck first with a goal in the 37th minute by Rafael Navarro. The Union had chances in the first half that didn’t result in a goal. In the second half, Kai Wagner’s corner resulted in a goal by Mikeal Uhre, equalizing the score in the 64th minute. In the 60th minute, a yellow card was issued to Djordje Mihailovic and a few minutes later Reggie Cannon also picked up a yellow card. Tai Baribo pushed a Colorado player into the back of the net prompting a response from Zach Steffan.
This exchange of words continued throughout the game until Baribo came off the field following a goal scored by Uhre in the 89th minute. Prior to celebrating with the team, Baribo celebrated in front of Stefan as he was on his knees after missing the ball. Both Baribo and Steffan picked up yellow cards during the second half of the match. Uhre had a brace on the night with assists from both Vassilev and Bedoya. At the final whistle, the Union registered its 200th win!
Also celebrating milestones were Andre Blake reaching 260 MLS starts while Bedoya registered his 40th assist. Tai Baribo now has the second most goals in the MLS.
