In pictures: Philadelphia Union 0 – 1 Columbus Crew

The Philadelphia Union played the Columbus Crew for the second time in a week and while much had changed for both teams – Columbus added another trophy to their trophy case, defeating LAFC to win the Leagues Cup title on Sunday, and the Union transferred out center back Damion Lowe to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Akhdoud – the result on the pitch in Chester was no better than the one in Columbus a week prior.

The Union were strong in possession in the first half half with few chances to show for it. Columbus featured a rotated squad coming off their championship win on Sunday, but it took only three minutes for their starters to affect the game, with their game-winning goal (the only goal for either team in the match) coming in the 75th minute after a trio of Columbus starters came on in the 72nd.

The Union remain in 10th place in the MLS Eastern Conference following the loss, one point back of the 8th vs 9th place play-in game.
