Once again MLS is showing what an incompetent organization they are. The dates/times for the playoffs were announced over a month ago. You would think that they would be able to let us know which match is going into which timeslot right after Sunday’s games were done but it has been over 15 hours and I still don’t know when the Union’s first game is so I can plan my schedule around the Union game.
Yes my thoughts exactly! There are a lot of great things about the league, but having to watch a game on that mini-pitch yesterday and now the delay in the schedule reminds me of the incompetence. The MLS app this morning put the Union game at noon on Saturday, but immediately took it down. Looks bad on the league.
Do you think maybe since it is a second tier sport TV executives might discuss what games to play when and who gets the best spots with the least competition? Sure we post the time up a head of knowing the teams but who knew no LA teams would make the cut and we don’t want the Union facing off against the Eagles or Penn State….
MLS is desperate for bigger TV contracts, whether singular or plural. DESPERATE. We know that individual organizations have been forbidden to sign TV/other video media deals that extend beyond the expiration point of the league’s current national-level one(s). They will do nothing — NOTHING — to jeopardize the financial yield on those negotiations.

Also, if we infer their policy from their past behavior, MLS does not officially announce things until all parties involved double-check and sign off. There are at least three separate media entities with current MLS broadcasting rights: ESPN/ABC, TUDN/Univision, and Fox Sports.

When I was checking playoff matches dates and times before the Decision Day match(es), I noticed that Fox Sports 1/Fox Sports’s times were all unspecified.

After thinking about Fox Sports’ complete calendar of TV obligations as best you can, draw the conclusion(s) that seem to you most likely.
Most college football kickoff times aren’t announced until a week or so from the actual game, and late season NFL games get flexed all the time. It’s standard procedure.
Schedule is up. Union play Saturday (11/20) at 2:30pm. If they win they’ll have 3 days extra rest because the Nashville-Orlando game isn’t until Tuesday night. Conference semifinal is on 11/28 at either 3pm or 5:30pm. Hoping against hope that they win that too, they’ll have an extra 2 days rest for the winner of New England-NYCFC/Atlanta game which isn’t until Tuesday night.
