I’ve loved the French National team since I was a little kid. The French play the game differently. They move with the ball differently. They strike and stroke the ball differently. This is all rooted in how they are taught the game technically – coupled with a rich street culture. I’ve done my best to model my kiddos game after the ethos of a French player: Athletic, Technical, Quick Decisions, Dynamic, Vigorous.

The country has an embarrassment of riches at every postion– 4 or 5 players deep in every position, save one, as evidenced on twitter and in their line up selection for Euros which has only one name penciled in: CDM. Only need one name there.

The addition of Benzema back into the mix is a bowl full of jelly, belly laugh. I love it. Arguably the best striker in the world for a country who were finalists last Euro and then won a world cup —without him. Best team in the world… by a wide wide margin. I hope they remain galvanized and a tight knit group which by all accounts they are. The French can unravel— and so long as they do not unravel… it will take a meteor to beat them. The leadership looks sound.
