YTP FC 2 – 6 Philadelphia Corinthians FC

YTP and Corinthians traded early goals before a brace from John Underwood saw Corinthians begin to pull away. Two more goals from Calder Street saw the game put out of reach.

“We had a few chances but didn’t put them away,” said YTP captain Giancarlo Granese. “Second half was more of the same story… We couldn’t hold them down the stretch.”

This was Corinthians second win on the trot, which sees them jockeying for position near the top of the Primera table. Captain Sam Vale wasn’t happy with the goals his side allowed though. “We need to get better with allowing bad goals… We are good enough to clean them up and hopefully get that elusive clean sheet and win next week.”

They’ll play FC Tigre, while YTP will have a tough match and try to get back on track against Real Vidas.

Philadelphia Legends FC 3 – 6 Real Vidas

Philadelphia Legends FC and Real Vidas played an early contender for wildest game of the season over the weekend at Upper Darby.

The first half was a tough, physical matchup that saw both teams go into the break level at 0-0. Christopher Smolyn came on and scored for Vidas in the 50th to go up 1-0, which is when all hell broke loose. Three goals were scored within the next ten minutes.

The flurry started with Vidas going up 3-0 before getting pegged back to 3-1. Then it was Legends’ Amadou Cisse who was sent off on a straight red for verbals directed towards the referee. With Legends down to 10 men, the last half-hour was a frantic affair that saw Real Vidas come awawy with a 6-3 victory and all three points.

Christopher Andersen was MOTM with two goals to the good. “Proud of the boys for battling it out in a physical matchup,” said Real Vidas captain Evan Gibbs. “Wasn’t our cleanest game but took care of business. Onto the next.”

“Tough loss,” said Legends captain Mitchell Torh. He’ll try to get his team back to winning ways next week against Vidas United, while Real Vidas will try to keep it rolling against YTP FC.

FC Tigre 1 – 4 Icarus FC

FC Tigre and Icarus FC battled over the weekend and went into the half tied 1-1, an early Ridge Robinson goal for Icarus cancelled out by a Daniel Patton equalizer for FC Tigre. A Jannelli brother got Icarus back on the board in the 50th to go 2-1 up, and Icarus never faltered.

Ridge Robinson got his brace in the 52nd, as well as MOTM honors, and Icarus pulled away. They capped the affair with a banger by Robbie Smukler in the 70th to finish things at 4-1.

“We turned it up in the second half,” said Icarus captain Kyle Smyth. “We had more subs than Tigre, so I think they were worn out… Credit to our goalie John Neidrach for making an incredible save.” Icarus will have their toughest test of the season next week against FC Misconduct, while FC Tigre will play another strong team in Philadelphia Corinthians FC.

SMK 5 – 1 Stoney United

It was a tale of two halves between SMK and Stoney United at Upper Moreland on Saturday afternoon.

Teams traded goals in the 18th and 30th minutes before SMK scored a go-ahead tally in the 32nd via Jesse Weick. Up 2-1, their goalkeeper Rishi Sarkar made some “really key saves,” in the words of captain Matt Muench, “that kept us ahead.”

SMK pulled away in the second half with Jessie Weick getting his hat-trick in the 84th, as SMK went on to win 5-1. The bounty continues Weick’s prodigious run of scoring form, as he establishes himself as one of the Primera’s elite bagsmen.

Stoney United will have a tough test next week against FC SouthHouse, while SMK have a bye. It’s a week off which they weren’t particularly pleased about. “Vibes are very good. (The bye) is almost a little disappointing because we would have liked to build some momentum off of that big win,” Muench said.

They’ll have to wait until a fixture vs FC Tigre two weeks from now.

Rose Tree Gunners 7-1 Santos

Formerly second place Santos suffered a shock defeat in a highly anticipated match to upstart Rose Tree Gunners with a final score of 7-1.

The game was all but over in the first half after an explosive start gave Rose Tree a three goal advantage heading into half time. Man of the Match Prince Komoh added the first two goals of an eventual hat-trick in a one minute stretch, while Mamadou Diarra finished off the first half scoring in the 37th minute. Two quick goals at the start of the second half preserved the three goal lead for Rose Tree, and they would add to their margin with three late goals in the second half too, including a fantastic finish from.

Rose Tree Gunners captain Dean Giovanopoulous was ecstatic with the big victory from his side.

“The team played great. I would say it was our best game as a club.” Giovanopoulous believed that the defensive intensity from Rose Tree was key, and allowed them to exploit the wide areas effectively. “We scored an early goal, and upped the press from there.”

While Santos captain Marcelo Orsorio-Soto was disappointed with the final result, he still believes in his team. “We went down 3-0 early and we couldn’t recover. But I feel confident that we can beat them if we had to play again.”

Santos will try to return to winning ways against Cracovia next week, while Rose Tree want to extend their unbeaten start of the season against Bluestars. “Every game matters,” Giovanopoulos said. “Our goal is the title because we want the first division very badly.”

Scoring summary

Rose Tree: Goals- Komoh (24’, 25’, 87’), Diarra (37’, 75’), Roberts (49’), Liako (75’) / Yellow- #27, unsportsmanlike conduct

Santos: Goal- David (50) / Yellow- #16, dissent

Cracovia 1-8 Smitty Werben Jager Man Jensen FC

Another large margin of victory kept Smitty Werben FC at the top of the table, beating bottom dwellers Cracovia 8-1.

Smitty Werben remain unbeaten through four games. The first half was not easy for Smitty Werben, however, as a goal from Max Spangenthal restored parity for Cracovia after Smitty’s early opener through Matt Skinner. But an immediate response from Matt Montera stalled Cracovia’s momentum and proved the winner. Hattrick hero Skinner would add a second at the end of the first half before finishing his trio of goals in the second half, while Bradley Maine scored a second half brace to cement the victory.

Smitty Werben captain Carson McBain believed his side’s energy and technical skills were key to their big victory.

“We were faster and we controlled most of the possession.” Cracovia captain Eryk Tylek remained unhappy with his team’s defending. “We had a couple of defensive breakdowns late in the first half which hurt us.”

Cracovia’s defense will get a chance at redemption against Santos, while Smitty Werben will try to remain at the top of the table against fellow promotion contender Heritage. “We have a couple of players who played for Heritage so it will be fun to play them,” McBain noted.

Scoring summary

Cracovia: Goals- Spangenthal (23’) / Yellow- Hoffman (28’) dissent

Smitty FC: Goals- Skinner (14’, 44’, 60’), Montera (24’), Bradley (57’, 63’), Abbo (77’), Sample (88’) / Yellow- Casey (41’) unsporting behavior, Bradley (63’) unsporting behavior

Philadelphia Deportivo 0-3 Philadelphia Heritage

Philadelphia Heritage stuck to winning ways, beating Philadelphia Deportivo 3-0.

This was Heritage’s third win in a row, catapulting them to third in the table after Week 4. The first half was back and forth, with both teams boasting spells of possession. Heritage was able to turn their possession into two goals however, while Depor couldn’t break down the Heritage rearguard. Man of the Match Allan Ferreira added those first half goals, and later supplied the assist for Adrian Conde to finish the scoring.

Heritage captain Ryan Pereus was happy with his side’s effort in a hard fought game. “This was our first shutout of the year. We had a lockdown defense.” A Heritage tactical switch was key to victory. “The second half we switched our formation from 4-5-1 to 4-2-3-1 which really helped,” Pereus said. “Our defensive midfield was more on the same page.” Pereus thought Deportivo were decent, and he praised their possession efforts.

Heritage have a difficult test next week against top of the table Smitty Werben FC, while Depor continue to search for their first win against Hunting Park United.

Bluestars 3-0 Statesmen

A resounding scoreline gave Bluestars their second straight win of the season, 3-0 over Statesmen.

A tight first half only had one breakthrough from Alan Bekima. The second half saw Bluestars take control of the match, and Man of the Match Julian Crowther cemented his side’s advantage with two long range goals.

Bluestars captain Aaron Bartels-Swindels was happy with how his team played, especially considering this win required a different style than their last win. “This was quite a different win than last week,” Bartels-Swindels commented. “We controlled the game with possession and wore them down, restricting them to low percentage shots.” Bluestars’ uptick in form set them solidly in midtable in 6th place, while Statesmen sit in 9th place with a game in hand on many of their competitors.

Bluestars face a challenge next week against second place Rose Tree Gunners, while Statesmen will look to win their first game against FC Bobert Munich.

Scoring summary

Bluestars: Goals- Bekima (26’), Crowther (55’, 83’) / Yellow- Cutler (58’) reckless tackle Statesmen: Yellow- Thompson (52’), dissent

Hunting Park United 3-0 Loose Cannons

A solid victory for Hunting Park United and our third 3-0 scoreline of the week gave Hunting Park their second straight win after sitting out Week 3 with a bye.

Hunting Park’s Steve Bien-Aime scored the ultimate game winner with a solid goal from outside the box in the 21st minute. After an uneventful end of the first half, a 68th minute scrappy goal gave Hunting Park the insurance they needed. A goal in stoppage time completed the scoring. While Loose Cannons had a decent amount of possession, they could not convert their control of the ball into goals.

Hunting Park sit in 5th in the table with a game in hand, while Loose Cannons sink to 9th. The Cannons will try to get back to winning ways against Cunningham Squires, while Hunting Park will face Philadelphia Deportivo to try to get in the mix for first place and automatic promotion.

Oaklyn United FC 2-2 Liberty City FC

Week four kicked off with some scintillating action that was sure to awaken the fans of these two squads in an early morning showdown.

Oaklyn United FC had been on a bit of an unexpected break the past two games and had been hungry for some game time, their last match played being the season opener. Liberty City FC had no such down time and had been playing business as usual, taking six points out of the opening nine. This was an opportunity for them to build on their massive win the previous weekend against an opponent who had some rust to shake off, but the Lions were poised to pounce.

The Lions dominated early, controlling the pace of the play and creating many of the attacks between the two sides. They broke the deadlock through a volley in the back of the Liberty City net via midfield maestro Matt Pastore, a goal that saw the Lions end the first half on the front foot. It was more of the same for Oaklyn United as five minutes into the second half they doubled the lead, this time with Pastore pulling the strings and setting up the assist.

Going down 2-0 appeared to be the spark Liberty City needed as they made the game 2-1 at the hour mark to fight their way back into the game. From that point, both squads carved out gilt edged chances, with Liberty City bagging the equalizer ten minutes from full time to salvage a point.

The Lions will look towards the weekend when they square off against Alamo FC. Liberty City FC will match up against Drexel Shaft.

Scoring summary

OUFC: Goals- M. Pastore (37’), S. Patterson (50’)

LCFC: Goals- O. Barrie (60’), A. Saidi (80’) / Yellow: D. Loose

Sunbears FC 2-3 Barenjager SC

The second early morning kickoff had excitement all around, bringing two teams together that had to be one of the games to watch in the league.

One squad was relegated from the upper division, Barenjager SC, the other was promoted from the lower division, Sunbears FC. Barenjager in German means bear hunter, how fitting that the Bear Hunters would square off against the Sunbears in the Derby of the Ultimate Predator.

Barenjager SC sharpened their weapons early when they opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Sunbears FC did not let their opponents get far ahead when they equalized ten minutes later through sharpshooter Nick Browndorf, and the first half ended all square. Sunbears seized the momentum in the match a little past the hour when they went up 2-1 through Roberto Sanchez. The Bear Hunters fought hard to regain control and were able to equalize in the 83rd minute, setting up a wild finish to the match.

Up stepped Mark Milligan for the Bear Hunters to slot home the game winner and secure all three points for Barenjager SC, in what one can hope is not the last time this derby occurs.

The Bear Hunters will take their win into the coming weekend when they square off against FC Burlington. Sunbears FC, having dropped their first points of the season and will work to get back on track when they take on Hees FC.

SC Corinthians 1-3 Drexel Shaft

The third early morning game, this time played across the Delaware River in New Jersey, brought together another extremely intriguing matchup for match week 4.

Coming off a bye, Drexel Shaft has yet to build a run of consistent games played, with the opener being their only game. SC Corinthians had come off a loss in the previous week and have found their second season in the league proving to be a lot tougher than their first in the Fall. Action really picks up in the second half of this game as Drexel Shaft scored two goals in the first five minutes from the restart. SC Corinthians had a lot of work to do to recover from being hit with both barrels. Chances were certainly there for Corinthians and they finally broke through with a goal from center back Dean Smith, now scoring in back to back games. Drexel Shaft remained composed throughout the rest of the second half and were able to grab an insurance goal late to see the win stay out of the reach of SC Corinthians for another week.

Drexel Shaft, now with two wins and two games in hand ,take their hard earned three points into the weekend when they will battle it out with Liberty City FC. SC Corinthians will once again try to grab their first win of the season when they square off with KRL Trading.

KRL Trading 1-1 Lost FC

The first brunch match of the day was certainly a huge fixture for the teams involved.

Lost FC had come off a devastating loss the previous weekend and had been struggling for goals, being shut out in back to back games. KRL Trading had not played the previous weekend but had not picked up a point in the two games that they did play. This was an opportunity for both squads to reverse their fortunes.

KRL Trading got the party started early with a goal in the sixth minute. From there, the game moved to a seemingly endless exchange of chances for both teams. KRL Trading had been holding an extremely tentative grip on the match and were close to walking out with their first win, but a clear cut foul in the box granted a penalty for Lost FC. The penalty was calmly put away in the 88th minute as both teams finally earned a point in the developing season.

KRL Trading will hope for some more momentum and continuous play at the coming Saturday when they match up with SC Corinthians. Lost FC will battle it out with Dolphinbros.

Brothers of the Gourd FC 1-3 Alamo FC

Going into this week 4 matchup, Brothers of the Gourd FC had a bye week, but prior to that were able to secure three points in a solid win. Alamo FC did not have a similar break and were able to take three points from their previous matchup.

The newcomers came into the game with every intention to make it two in a row and they got off to a hot start early with a goal in the first fifteen minutes. Brothers of the Gourd were able to regroup and repel other Alamo attacks to see the game go into the half at 1-0. The break did wonders for Alamo as they were able to double their lead in the 55th, exerting more control on the contest. The league debutants definitely were not finished as they were able to make it 3-0 shortly after, really putting the Brothers against the ropes.

In the 65th minute however, Brothers of the Gourd were able to get themselves on the score sheet but that was all they could manage in the game as Alamo FC ran away clear winners on the day. With the loss, Brothers of the Gourd FC will quickly try to dust themselves off and work to get back to winning ways when they square off against Berber United on Saturday. Alamo FC, now with two wins in a row will look to make it three when they take on the Lions of Oaklyn United FC.

Hees FC 2-3 FC Burlington

The only afternoon game on the day was the feature matchup, bringing about a highly anticipated New Jersey battle.

On one side of the pitch was FC Burlington, a squad that was finding life after promotion a little tough for them to navigate, not having a point coming into the game. Hees FC on the other side, had found some consistency for themselves early on, earning four hard fought points in the two games that they played going into this one. This match was all about securing three points for a catapult into the elite areas of the table, as well as local bragging rights to showcase New Jersey pride.

The Schnauzers got the ball rolling when they opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Nixon Soglo, their leading scorer from last season. Burlington got another goal sixteen minutes later as they grew more confident as the minutes passed by in the first half. Hees FC were not to be forgotten as they were able to cut the lead in half in the 38th minute to see the first half end 2-1 in favor of the Schnauzers. Into the second half, Hees FC continued to work hard to bring themselves back in the game and that hard work paid off in the 66th minute as Hees were able to bag the equalizer.

The three points were still there for the the taking and it was FC Burlington who were able to snatch them late when once again Nixon Soglo stepped up to calmly dispatch the game winner. The match had everything for a spectator, two highly competitive squads, both vying for regional supremacy, and a cause with which both teams could rally behind despite the final score. The match between Hees FC and FC Burlington was played under the banner of Autism Awareness and it was good to see both squads come together after the game to all wear blue shirts for the cause.

The coming weekend Hees FC will take on Sunbears FC and FC Burlington will match up against Barenjager SC.

The game opened up early with Dead Ball Sc getting the early lead in the 4th minute through #3 Andrusko, but the joy would not last long as Nation United would tie it up less than ten minutes later through #4 Thomas. Both teams kept looking for the win but were unable to find that extra goal needed and the match would end on a deadlock. Nations United would look to make it 3 unbeaten games in a row when they face Fishtown FC next week while Dead Ball will keep looking for that first win against Leader FC this upcoming weekend.

FC Delta 4 – 1 Still Processing

In a rematch for last seasons Sexto Promotional Playoff Final, FC Delta (2-1-0) handed Still Processing FC (0-3-0) another unfortunate defeat.

FC Delta’s star forward, #97 Issabre, had another outstanding performance that saw him get a hat trick that included a stellar free kick goal from 25+ yards out. Even outmatched, Still Processing did manage to keep their heads up and saw a beautiful free kick curler of their own make it past FC Delta’s keeper. Playing hard and hoping for a comeback, Still Processing was awarded a PK just minutes after their opening goal, with their chance to bring the score within 1 goal, Still Processing’s #99 Adam stepped for what could have been his second goal in just minutes only to see his shot go off the post and deny him his brace. FC Delta who never take their foot off the gas, pressed the defense for the last 6+mins and #2 Jah found himself an open look and put the game away with goal number 4 for FC Delta.

Still Processing FC knows they need to improve their finishing to move up out of the bottom of Quinto and will look to turn it around in week 5 against Sporting Philadelphia (3-0-1) and FC Delta will look to gain some ground in the standings when they take on last place UCFC (0-4-0)

Telle Bouche 4 – 2 Washington Square Soccer Club

With both teams coming off week 3 losses and looking to improve their place in the standings, Telle Bouche (1-3-0) and Washington Square Soccer Club (1-3-0) played an exciting game that finally saw Telle Bouche get their offense going. With Telle Bouche scoring multiple goals for the first time since the fall season, captain of Telle Bouche said it felt good seeing #33 Phy score a brace but understood it did happen against a team that only managed to field 9 players. If Telle Bouche wants to improve in the standings they will need to look to their offense to produce this type of performance against a full strength side as well and Washington Square Soccer Club’s captain knows he is going to have to get a grasp on his roster issues as they cant expect to have positive results if they continue to play iron man style soccer. Telle Bouche hope to keep the goals coming against New Wave FC (2-1-0) in their week 5 match while Washington Square Soccer Club are looking to play spoilers to the current division leading Oaklyn Academy (4-0-0)

Inter Phila 5 – 2 New Wave FC

Inter Phila (3-1-0) and New Wave FC (2-1-0) battled it out and found themselves on the receiving end of multiple yellow card cautions. Pressing hard right out the gate, Inter Phila caused disrupted the backline of New Wave FC that resulted in a quick goal from a poor turnover in their 18yd box the Inter’s #9 Marcal pounced on for the first of his 3 goals on the day. With a score-line of 4-0 after Inter capitalized on another poorly placed pass in their defensive area, New Wave FC would fight back and grab 2 goals in quick succession in the 76th and 78th minute. New Wave FC would continue their physical style if play that would result in their goalie getting booked for dissent for arguing a call. That argument would come back to haunt New Wave FC almost immediately when their keeper would get caught playing too far out from this 18yd box and was called for a hand ball resulting a red card for yellow card accumulation. Just to put the final nail in the coffin, Inter Phila, who prefer to let the score sheet do the talking, put the game away with their 5th and final goal with a strike from distance by #36 Basyatski in the 86th minute. Inter Phila will hopefully have a game next week as they are scheduled to face Mark Walhbergs Cousins (0-2-0) who have had 2 games rescheduled so far this season. New Wave FC will rely on their back up keeper when they take on the surging offense of Telle Bouche (1-3-0)

Oaklyn Academy 2 – 1 UCFC

Division leading and undefeated Oaklyn Academy (4-0-0) had their hands full in their match against the winless UCFC (0-4-0) Falling being 1-0 after UCFC converted their PK in the first half, Oaklyn found themselves struggling to find a way to finish off their chances. Oaklyn was getting good open looks on goal but failed to either pull the trigger or put anything on frame that was dangerous enough to cause any type of rebound possibility. Halfway through the 2nd half Oaklyn get their own PK and #6 Bua stepped up and tied the game at 1-1 with just under 15mins remaining. Both teams fought for possession and a 1-1 draw seemed likely, with Oaklyn pressing and UCFC absorbing the pressure it seemed like both teams would settle for the draw until #9 Feldman found himself in the right place at the time in the 89th minute when he pounced on a loose ball in the box that was bobbled by UCFC’s keeper. Dropping points for a 4th week in a row, UCFC will need to put the clamps on FC Delta (2-1-0) if they want to secure their points of the season and stopping FC Delta’s #97 will be top priority for UCFC in week 5. Oaklyn Academy will put their undefeated record on the line when they take on Washington Square Soccer Club in week 5.

Mighty Ducks 4 – 0 Coyotes FC

After starting off strong in week 1, Coyotes FC (1-3-0) found themselves starting another game short on players and their keeper dealing with a nagging knee injury that made their match against Mighty Ducks (4-0-0) feel like a uphill battle from the start. Even short on players and the Ducks having a knack of scoring goals in bunches, the Coyotes were able to keep the game close with the Ducks being up only 1 goal going into the end of the first half. Everything changed once the Ducks got their 2nd goal and that set up their captain, #6 Green with his first Hat Trick of the season put the game away by the 82nd minute. Even with giving up 4 goals, the banged up keeper for Coyotes FC kept the game as close a possible for as long as possible as he was credited with making double digit saves in the loss to the Mightiest of Mallards. Coyotes FC will have a decent chance at getting back to their winning ways when they take on the last place S.O.B Athletic (0-3-1) in week 5. Mighty Ducks will face off against one of their toughest opponents so far when they take on Dyslexia Untied (3-1-0) in week 5.

Goals: Mighty Ducks #6 GREEN (29, 77, 82) #3 GALLAGHER

Dyslexia Untied 2 – 1 Philadelphia Strikers

Dyslexia Untied (3-1-0) rode #16 Meenan’s hot streak in a tightly contested match against Philadelphia Strikers (0-3-1) that saw both teams fight it out in their respective defensive halves. Both teams high press produced a lot of quality chances but not a lot of quality finishes. #16 Meenan had a brace just after the hour mark, Dyslexia sat back and were caught in transition and were punished with a quick goal from #36 McKenna for the Strikers. The Strikers pushed their defensive mid further up field and with the added possession they obtained they managed to really put Dyslexia on their heels. The defensive unit of Dyslexia Untied would hold up un the pressure and keep the Strikers from nabbing their tying goal. The win puts Dyslexia Untied in 3rd place just below their week 5 opponents Mighty Ducks (4-0-0) who will look to contain #16 Meenan to keep their undefeated record blemish free. the Philadelphia Strikers will take on Hamilton FC (2-2-0) in what could be a winnable game for either team.

Honey Badgers FC 4 – 1 Hamilton FC

Undefeated Honey Badgers FC (4-0-0) took on the normally stingy defensive unit of Hamilton FC (2-2-0) and handed them their second defeat by 3 goals in the past 2 weeks. Having lost to Birdeaux FC (1-3-0) last week to the score of 3-0, Hamilton hoped to tighten up the defense and bounce back after winning their first 2 games. Honey Badgers FC had other plans and after only 8mins their speedy winger, #17 Martinez, scored the first of his two goals. Hamilton FC’s #21 Onite scored a nice goal to bring the game within 1 in the 64th minute and give Honey Badgers FC a quick scare. Having only a 1 goal lead, Honey Badgers FC would commit more numbers forward and it would pay off as they would put in another 2 goals in just under 10mins to give themselves a well deserved win and first place in the division and #17 Martinez Man of the Match for his well deserved play as he continues to impress in Sexto. Honey Badgers FC will need to keep themselves focused when they take on a hungry Kensington (1-3-0) in week 5 and Hamilton FC will look to get thing working against Philadelphia Strikers (1-3-0)

FC BTC 4 – 2 Birdeaux

FC Birdeaux FC (1-3-0) who impressed last week in their 3-0 win against Hamilton FC, were looking to build off the momentum of their first of the season when they faced off against FC BTC (2-2-0) who were coming off a gut check defeat courtesy of the Mighty Ducks. The momentum was leaning towards FC BTC who jumped ahead early when #3 Foley caught Birdeaux bird watching and put one away in the 7th minute. FC BTC would carry a 2-1 lead into the 2nd half, having given up a goal in the final moments of the first half. Still feeling good after scoring before the half ended, Birdeaux caught FC BTC off guard and put in the tying goal just moments into the 2nd half. Birdeaux would not get to breath easy for too long as #12 McDonald (who is not old and does not have a farm) put in his first of 2 second half goals to give FC BTC the 4-2 victory. The win moves FC BTC to mid table which is a position they never saw last season outside of week 2, their week 5 match match against the always tough to beat Boys Do Cry (2-2-0) will be a true test for the surging FC BTC. Birdeaux FC fought hard and showed a lot of heart and will look to make some adjustments and come out with a better result in their week 5 match against Rapid Nightfall FC (3-1-0)

Goals: Birdeaux- #1 Gales 44′, #37 MacColl 46′

FC BTC- #3 Foley 7′, #7 Madden 38′, #12 McDonald 49′, 79′

Boys Do Cry 5 – 0 Kensington

Boys Do Cry (2-2-0) took on Kensington (1-3-0) for the 2nd time in just 3 days as BDC were the victors in their Wednesday night Casa League Cup match against Kensington. The Boys came out on top with a 2-0 victory over the young squad from Kensington but were impressed with the wing play from the losing side. Saturdays match at AIM didn’t bode well for the team looking to spread the game wide as Kensington continued to get caught in transition. Boys Do Cry basically set up camp, pitched a tent and lived in the center midfield for the entirety of the match. Kensington would try different defensive shapes but had no answer for the silver haired fox #9 Steve Tice from BDC who nabbed a hat trick in his 2,000th cap for BDC (coming from their youth system) Though Kensington would see some positive late in the 2nd half as the half was coming to a close they finally broke through the defensive and really started to test the keeper for BDC, they would fail to create and real chances and would be shut out for the first time this season. A scary moment in the 85th minute would see BDC’s keeper go down with what is believed to be a a serious knee injury as he fell to the ground while making a play on the ball with no one around. Boys Do Cry will have a week to figure out their goalie situation before they take on FC BTC (2-2-0) in week 5. Kensington will need to get more out of their young core group of strikers as they look to turn it around next week against the 1st place Honey Badgers FC (4-0-0)

Goals Boys Do Cry (5) #9 Steve Tice 3 goals , #12 Jude Roche, #8 Nelson Jaramillo

Yellow Cards Kensington # 5 J Bullick dissent

Man of Match- Boys Do Cry # 19 Steve Tice

Rapid Nightfall FC 3 – 0 S.O.B. Athletic

Rapid Nightfall (3-1-0) have now won three straight matches in Sexto play taking down an energetic Sons of Ben side who were able to pin Nightfall in their own half for a majority of the first half. Windy conditions certainly made over the top passes a must to break through the Rapid back line and without their starting goalkeeper, Nightfall defended valiantly to keep their backup shot stopper safe. Too many buildups eventually led to Nightfall getting a much needed breakthrough from Abel Bedu which gave Rapid the confidence to take advantage of the elements in the 2nd half and put two more past S.O.B. through the clinical finishing of Peter Nwaoba. A fairly one sided affair, S.O.B. had their moments late in the game but could not get themselves on the score sheet. The Sons will look to bounce back against a hungry Coyotes FC squad while Rapid Nightfall look to make it 4 in a row against Birdeaux FC.

Rapid Nightfall FC Goals: Abel Bedu, Peter Nwaoba X2
