Philadelphia Union

The Union will face the Portland Timbers in the MLS is Back semifinals, after their 3-1 win over NYCFC.

Union II fell to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds 4-0 on Saturday night.

Warren Creavalle’s Black Lives Matter t-shirt is now available for purchase.

MLS

Minnesota United topped the San Jose Earthquakes 4-1 to reach the semifinals.

Adrian Heath is still playing the underdog card… even though Minnesota hasn’t lost all year.

3 of the 4 semifinalists are looking for their first major trophy.

FiveThirtyEight likes the Union’s odds at MLS is Back hardware.

World

The Weston McKennie transfer saga is still raging.

American Haji Wright has moved to the Danish league.

Benedikt Howedes, another German world cup winner, has retired.

Christian Pulisic scored, then got injured in Chelsea’s FA Cup defeat.

Zlatan is still scoring in Italy, so much for MLS being a retirement league.

Looks like Wednesday’s Union II game has been moved up to 5pm to avoid overlap with the Union game (and to allow 200 STH to go to Subaru Park to watch the Union game on the big screen).

Wait, Portland wasn’t around before us? I’m not great on Pre-Union MLS history but I thought Portland has been around a while

      • Andy Muenz says:

No, they and Vancouver joined MLS in 2011. (They may have been in a lower league before then but not in MLS).

Wow. Idk why they feel like they’ve been around forever. Maybe consistent success has something to do with it…
