  1. Incredible games in the CL yesterday. Jesse Marsh has this team playing real well.

  2. What gets me about the Pulisic thing is that he is being talked about by his own manager and members of the British press as if he’s some unknown quantity who has never distinguished himself at a high level. “You have to remember he’s only 21” – Yes, he’s only 21 and has made over 100 appearances for one of the best teams in Germany, including 20 in the Champions League. Does he have room for improvement and things to work on? Of course! Does Lampard just not rate him? If so, that’s fine! But he’s not just some unproven kid, and it’s disheartening to see him treated like one.

Agree with this. Lampard has his guys and Pulisic isn’t one of them. He wasn’t there when Pulisic was brought in and obviously doesn’t rate him. There are other “kids” on that team who are playing and Lampard doesn’t mention their ages. Pulisic needs a winter transfer BAD… and not to some scrub team either.

      • There is no way they will sell him since they will not get the money back. A loan would work. Also biggest mistakes Chelsea made was to sell Saleh and deBruyn instead of loaning them out. They will not make the same mistake with Pulisic.

    • Pulisic’s situation was all wrong from the start. Yes there was the shiny wrapper of playing in the PL for one of the big boys, and $70mil is not chump change. But the coach had no idea he was joining the team, and Lampard just inherited him. Along with Frank’s need to put his stamp on the team, it all ends in a less than ideal situation to be in. Lesson – don’t go to a team unless you know you’re in the coach’s plans.
      .
I have no doubts he can succeed in England, he just needs to go to a team that actually wants him.

    • Old Soccer Coach says:

How long did it take many Americans to accept that Japanese players were good enough to play in the majors?
      .
Soccer is England’s national pasttime the way baseball was here in the forties and fifties.
