  1. How embarrassing for the USMNT. It was worse after watching the exciting Union game and seeing some quality World Cup games and nations league surrounding it. Some excellent, fun, exciting soccer all around this steaming crap pile.

It looks like people are referring to the Berhalter job as The Process. I don’t love that as its a totally different situation. Also if we were messing around with tactics and lineups and players etc, it’s even more highlights how bad waiting to switch managers was. A complete waste of a year.

I get that Bradley is unavailable and Adams wasn’t in camp yet, but Will Trapp simply cannot play. There has to be other people available. Dmid has typically been a good position for the US, where is everyone. To that point, I get that Yedlin is out and Lima hasn’t been great lately, but please just play Adams at his spot. He’s a high quality dmid, playing at a high quality at dmid, on a high quality team. Why mess with that? It reminds me of Klinnsman.
    .
Someone smarter than me, are Steffens struggles due to everyone being unsure about the system still, the back line playing horribly, both, or neither? I’m just praying for a turn around for the tournament.

  2. wasn’t able to attend, but, since i was out of town, able to stream the match. fortunate the ones that were able to experience the match. i still think the Union have a gear left with a healthy Fabián. whether that comes this season or not is to be decided.

was this covered last week?! “Haris Medunjanin’s thunderbolt against Minnesota wins AT&T Goal of the Week.” i watched Zlatan’s bicycle live. how did this beat it? (Haris’ was impressive)

US Mens… damn. where to begin?

    • Even more amazing is that Zlatan’s bicycle got last place in voting. Are we (as a league) just so spoiled with the riches of Zlatans efforts that we want to see other people win out of disdain?
      .
I think a healthy Fabián gives us a gear. I’m sure he’s disappointed on not making the Gold Cup roster, but hopefully the time home allows his full health and assimilation into the squad.

  3. The richest country in the world with hundreds of millions of people lost to a small country without a functional economy and on the brink of civil war.

    • MASGA

    • This is nothing new.
      .
USMNT lost to an island nation to miss out on the World Cup.

    • John O'Donnell Jr says:

The richest country in the world line always makes me laugh because the U.S. is ranked number eleven. Besides it’s not like we throw all of our resources behind the U.S. soccer program.
      .
If being the richest country in the world is the criteria for winning, then Qatar is going to love hosting the World Cup.

  4. Andy Muenz says:

One thing missed here from the weekend was the US loss to Ecuador in the U-20 quarterfinals. That was followed by an incredibly exciting game where South Korea beat Senegal in PK’s after tying it up in the 99th minute followed by Senegal tying up the overtime in stoppage time there.
