Overlooked in all of the Lopetegui business is that when he ruined Spain’s chances at the World Cup by negotiating with Real Madrid during the run-up to the tournament, he then had to coach six of the players at the club level (Ramos, Isco, Asensio, Carvajal, Nacho and Vasquez). You can’t tell me that there wasn’t some underlying anger from each of them at Lopetegui which probably led to some poor performances.

    Is Solari the answer long term? Who knows and honestly, who cares since most Madrid managers don’t last more than 2-3 seasons anyway.

    • Was it just me or did Louisville play the game at a noticeably much faster pace than did Phoenix?
      .
      Louisville contained phoenix’s speed on the flanks, and seemed to reduce them to Drogba free kicks as their major threat. But I was not watching carefully.
      .
      Seemed like a just result.
