World Cup

France is going to the World Cup final to try to win their second-ever championship.

They will play the winner of today’s semifinal between Croatia and England.

Philadelphia Union

The Union are in Illinois for tonight’s match against Chicago Fire.

After claiming that C.J. Sapong is still a quality striker in MLS, head coach Jim Curtin has said that Cory Burke will see more playing time.

Minnesota United signed Colombian striker Angelo Rodriguez as their second DP.

Real Salt Lake drew 1-1 in their friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt, whom the Union are set to play Saturday.

Bethlehem Steel FC head down south to face Atlanta 2 tonight.

Penn FC’s Lucky Mkosana was named to the USL Team of the Week for the second week in a row after the team’s defeat against Richmond Kickers.

Around the globe

Huge announcement yesterday, as Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving Real Madrid for Italian super-side Juventus, who will be in Philadelphia later this month. Might we see CR7 at the Linc?

  1. The Truth says:

Mbappe is so much better than Neymar, right? He never dives or egregiously wastes time, right? RIGHT?

  2. I guess France is going to win this thing. They aren’t doing anything particularly exciting, but they just keep getting the wins. Can’t see how they conspire to lose to either England or Croatia. That said, I’ve been wrong about 75 percent of the WC results I’ve tried to predict so far, so I guess that means Croatia is going to win its first ever Cup.

    • hahaha. love your conclusion there. i would not have picked all-Europe for the semis. My pool had France going to final losing to Brazil. Belgium had nothing to answer them.

no one other than Croatian hardcores picked them getting this far. true for England fans too. i’d say England goes through but it’s France’s to lose

      • I was sure Brazil was going to steamroll the whole thing, and was even more convinced of that when first Germany and then Spain were sent packing. Oh well.

  3. Andy Muenz says:

I doubt we will see Ronaldo or any of the participants in the World Cup at the Linc. They will probably go with a very short preseason.
