In the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show, KYW’s Greg Orlandini joined by PSP’s Mike Servedio and Adam Cann to wrap up Philadelphia Union’s 2016 season, which ended with last week’s playoff knockout game loss in Toronto, their first playoff game in 5 seasons. It was a hard fought match, but defensive lapses doomed the Union to defeat.
The guys discuss what happened in the game and look back on the season before looking ahead to the 2017 season and discussing which players may stay, and who might be leaving the team.

I know that realistically with marketing in the picture, Rosenberry has no chance for ROY. However, when you look at what he did, it’s far from obvious that he shouldn’t be seriously considered.
.
Rosenberry was the only field player, rookie or otherwise, to play every minute, had 0 cards, only 13 fouls committed in 34 games, 2 goals, 2 assists as a defender. He also had to play with two different center backs next to him that switched out every couple of games, and several different midfielders in front of him so wasn’t in a position where he could get comfortable with the same teammates. While Morris is a poster boy for the league, came on strong towards the end, and will probably win the award, I don’t think the choice is obvious.
.
And Keegan should be given very serious consideration for Fair Play with those numbers. I believe he and Robles are the only two players up for multiple awards.
