It has been a long time coming, but Philadelphia Union midfielder Maurice Edu has finally made it to the field in 2016. And he is the guest on the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show podcast.

Edu, who is recovering from a stress fracture in his leg that has kept him sidelined all season, talks with KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Mike Servedio about his rehab.

Edu, who played his first game minutes since last September on Sunday for the Union’s USL affiliate, Bethlehem Steel, says his goal is to make it back the Union this season and help in the team’s push for the playoffs.

Then Greg and Mike talk about the Union’s ugly 3-0 road loss last Saturday to Chicago Fire. Philly had a couple key players missing, with goalkeeper Andre Blake and Alejandro Bedoya both away on international duty, and Josh Yaro in Ghana for his mother’s funeral. On Saturday, the Union host Didier Drogba and the Montreal Impact at Talen Energy Field.
