The new man in charge of the business side of the Philadelphia Union is the guest on the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show.

Tim McDermott sits down in the studio with KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch to talk about the team’s plan for the future as they work to spread the brand and reach out more to the community.

McDermott comes to the team with a wealth of sports management knowledge, having worked with the Eagles, Washington Capitals, and most recently the 76ers.

  1. Great interview. McDermott seems really thoughtful in his approach in how he views the sports management/marketing landscape. Seems like a great hire.

  2. “Quite frankly”

  3. Very happy to have such an experience professional running the business end. Equally happy that he seems to know what he doesn’t know and will keep his nose out of the soccer side.

Would love to see him use his connections from working for the Eagles and Sixers to help the Union gain better media and sponsorship relationships.

  4. Excellent interview. Makes me optimistic about the Union being able to regain momentum and fan engagement. One complaint about the experience that I hope will be fixed: pave lot A. The gravel pit does not make one feel respected or welcome as a season ticket holder.
