Philadelphia Lone Star FC

Preview: Junior Lone Star v LVU Sonic

Junior Lone Star FC host 2013 NPSL’s Northeast Region Champions FC Lehigh Valley United Sonic in a top-of-the-table Keystone Conference clash on Wednesday night. Unlike last season, both teams have started this season quite well with the Sonic maintaining their undefeated record with a 1-0 home win over Pocono Snow SC on Saturday while the Stars bounced back from their shock 0-3 defeat at Pocono Snow SC last Wednesday to defeat last year’s Keystone Conference champions GBFC Thunder with the same score line on Saturday.

The Stars will be looking for their fourth successive home win this season while the Sonic will be looking to maintain their unbeaten streak along with a fourth successive clean sheet. Games between the both sides have been very closely contested over the past two seasons. However, the Stars, who have never scored on Sonic, will be looking to improve on that dismal record on Wednesday night.

Heading into tonight’s clash, LVU Sonic (3-0-0) are currently in fourth place in the Northeast Region, which in addition to the Keystone Conference also includes the Mid-Atlantic and Atlantic conferences, while Junior Lone Star (3-1-0) is in fifth place.

Kickoff is at 7 pm at Monsignor Bonner High School Stadium in Drexel Hill, PA. You can follow live text commentary on Twitter at @juniorlonestar and @lvusonic.
