In the latest edition of the KYW Philly Soccer Show, we switch gears a little bit and cast our gaze to the Jersey Shore. KYW‘s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with Tim Oswald, the head coach of the Ocean City Nor’Easters of the USL-PDL. The team is set to begin their US Open Cup campaign at home on Wednesday against New York Greek America Atlas.
Last year, the Nor’Easters had a strong run in the cup with a victory at home against Pittsburgh Riverhounds of USL-PRO and a gutty loss against the Union at PPL Park. Oswald is a busy guy, as he is also the head coach of the Division III Rutgers Camden men’s team, where he earned honors as D-III Coach of the Year after taking his team to the national final.
Then, Kevin Kinkead of CBS 3 and Soccerly.com joins Greg and Eli to talk Philadelphia Union, where things have been going from bad to worse after the team once again was goalless last weekend in its loss to DC United. Things don’t get any easier as the Union are on the road to face Sporting KC on Wednesday before facing a suddenly very hot New England Revolution at home on Saturday.
