KYW Philly Soccer Show: Conor Casey

The Philadelphia Union needed a big strong presence up front, and it arrived in the offseason in the form of Conor Casey. The Union striker is the guest this week on the KYW Philly Soccer Show.

KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP writer Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with the former Colorado Rapid and USMNT player about coming to Philly in the offseason.

Casey, who has two goals and two assists on the year, also discusses the budding on-field relationship with fellow forward Jack McInerney, whose play has really blossomed since Casey’s arrival and was just named MLS Player of the Month.

Greg and Eli then look ahead to the Union’s home match on Saturday against the Seattle Sounders, the first time the team is back at PPL Park since the 1-1 draw against Toronto FC on April 13.

The Union is coming off a disastrous 2-0 road loss to New England last week, and now looks to return to winning form against the struggling Sounders, who are sitting on one win for the year.

Get Soumare on the field at CB and move Okugo to DM. The Union is not doing Okugo any favors playing at CB. He is way too small to play the position for the National Team.
