The Philadelphia Union hit the road this weekend for the first of two consecutive away matches, traveling to face the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Saturday night. After grinding out a scoreless draw against Eastern Conference-leading Nashville SC last weekend, Bradley Carnell’s side now faces another difficult test against one of the hottest teams in MLS.

While Philadelphia’s 2026 campaign has been defined by frustration and missed chances, there have been some signs of improvement in recent weeks. Saturday is another chance for the Boys in Blue to prove they’re capable of turning solid performances into results against a New England side that hasn’t lost at home all season.

Scouting Report: New England Revolution

After missing the playoffs in 2025, the Revolution have quickly re-established themselves as one of the East’s top teams under first-year Head Coach Marko Mitrović. New England enters the weekend second in the conference with a 6-3-1 record and has been dominant at home, winning all five of their matches there so far.

As expected, Carles Gil remains at the center of the attack, already boasting three goals and three assists. Alongside him, Luca Langoni has emerged with six assists and one goal, helping fuel a Revolution offense that has seen 11 different players score in 2026.

Defensively, New England has been equally impressive. Goalkeeper Matt Turner has rediscovered top form with three clean sheets and 49 saves through 10 games, anchoring one of the best defensive units in the conference.

Scouting Report: Philadelphia Union

Despite sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, the Union have shown flashes of what carried them to the Supporters’ Shield a season ago. Philadelphia has become increasingly difficult to break down defensively, holding Nashville scoreless last weekend and allowing only nine goals across 11 matches so far this year.

The biggest issue has been on the attacking end, where goals have been hard to come by. Milan Iloski has been one of the brighter spots in attack, leading the team with two goals while generating dangerous chances. The Union will likely need another strong outing from him if they hope to leave Foxborough with points.

Injuries may also force the Union to shuffle their lineup again. Defender Sery Larsen is expected to miss out with a shoulder issue, while midfielder Jesús Bueno remains questionable. The lineup shift could create another opportunity for young defender Geiger Martínez, who impressed after stepping in against Nashville.

Matchup to Watch: Carles Gil vs. Philadelphia’s midfield press

New England’s attack tends to flow through Gil, so limiting his influence will be crucial for the Union. Philadelphia’s midfield has shown improvement defensively in recent weeks, but containing one of the league’s best creators for 90 minutes might be a challenge. If Gil finds pockets of space between the lines, the Revolution’s attack can quickly overwhelm the Boys in Blue.

Player to Watch: Milan Iloski

With goals at a premium for the Union, Iloski’s ability to create chances will be vital on Saturday night. The forward has become Philadelphia’s best attacking option, and against a confident New England side, the Union may need a moment of individual quality from him to steal points on the road.

Prediction: Union 0 – 0 Revolution

With both teams entering the match on the back of clean sheets, Saturday feels like a matchup where chances will be limited and neither side finds the breakthrough.
