The Philadelphia Union will try again on Saturday to get their first win of the year, and the KYW Philly Soccer Show previews the match.

In the latest edition of the Philly Soccer Show, KYW‘s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch talk with Union midfielder Gabriel Farfan.

Farfan got the start in the midfield, along with his brother Michael, in the Union’s 3-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City. Gabriel talks about that opening game and the trouble the team had sustaining their strong start in the match.

Gabriel also talks about the match against Colorado, and the possibility of facing a former Union first-round pick: forward Danny Mwanga, who was recently traded to the Rapids.

Then, Greg and Eli look back at the KC game and ahead to the Rapids.

In the Rapids the Union have a beatable foe. The Colorado team is rebuilding after getting rid of many of the pieces that helped win an MLS Cup in 2010.

The game will also mark the first return of Union forward Conor Casey, the Rapids’ all-time leading scorer, to his former club.

  1. Weak excuses! Somebody better step it up on the field! Why would you make Carroll your captain when you have a timid goalie. Hackworth is no pro coach. Every excuse given by G. Farfan sounded so cliche, just making excuses to defend a non professional approach to managing this team. Too dog and pony! Get some soccer acumen in this organization. Yes if they scored more it would have been great, however the lack of knowing what to do in your own 3rd is alarming. Hacworth and Laviolette are clones!
