The Celtics presently sit in fourth place with seven points in five games on the league table; however, they will be buoyed by their 4-1 thrashing of First German Sports Phoenix on Sunday, October 14 in a league game.

Junior Lone Star FC, on the other hand, presently sits on top of the Philadelphia Sierra Soccer League (PSSL) table with 18 points in eight games. The Stars are going into this match on a five-game winning streak while unbeaten in the league so far. Their recent win came in the 3-2 narrow victory against fierce local rivals Salone FC on Wednesday, October 24 when Moses Jackson scored the winner after goals from Quawa Eddie Kowalo and midfield-maestro Joe-Joe Jappah were cancelled by a resilient Salone FC team with two goals during the first half.

Previous Meeting

The Stars and the Celtics have never met in competitive soccer. The Stars defeated both Hunter INAZU and Quakertown FC of the ICSL during last year’s Eastern Pennsylvania State Amateur Cup Third Round and Quarter-Finals, respectively.

Trivia

Junior Lone Star FC has never qualified past the first round of the EPSA Open Cup. The Stars’ first entry into the EPSA Open Cup was during the 2010-2011 season when they were eliminated in the first qualifying round after losing 1-0 away to VE Majors. The Stars were eliminated again in the first qualifying round during the 2011-2012 season when they lost 1-0 away to West Chester O-30s.
