A big week in soccer, and the KYW Philly Soccer Show is here to break it down. First, KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch are joined by Philadelphia Union defender Bakary Soumare. The imposing center back made his team debut in the 3–1 loss to Chicago Fire after a three month layoff due to knee surgery.
In part one, Soumare talks about getting back to game fitness after the time off, the team’s prospects for getting into the playoffs and how much MLS has changed during his time in Europe for stints in the German and French leagues.

In part two, Greg and Eli discuss the historic 1–0 win by the US National team over Mexico at the Azteca, their first-ever win on Mexican soil Former Union defender Michael Orozco-Fiscal provided the lone US goal and New Jersey-native Tim Howard made several key saves to secure the victory.
The talk then returns to the Union, who have said so long to forward Lionard Pajoy, sending him to DC United for winger Danny Cruz. Pajoy was seen as a key offseason pickup by the team, but struggled from the onset and saw his playing time cut since John Hackworth took over as manager. Still, he leaves as co-leader in goals this season with 5. The 22-year-old Cruz played under Hackworth in the National Team’s youth program.
