In this week’s Philly Soccer Show podcast, co-hosts KYW’s Greg Orlandini and PSP’s Eli Pearlman-Storch are joined by Philadelphia Union and USMNT U-23 midfielder Amobi Okugo and Delco Daily Times journalist Chris Vito.
In part one, Okugo talks with Greg and Eli about the upheaval on the team after the departure of forward Sebastien Le Toux and captain, goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon. He also talks about his time recently in the Olympic team training camp and his time touring Europe in the off-season with Generation Addidas.
In part two, Chris Vito, Union beat writer for the Delaware County Times, talks about his exclusive with Le Toux after the forward’s trade to Vancouver Whitecaps. The candid interview made its way around the Internet, with the Frenchman pulling no punches. Vito provides some insight into the Union’s all-time leading scorer as he leaves town.
In part three, Greg and Eli lament the cancellation of the WPS season. The women’s league was going to attempt a season with just five teams, including the Philadelphia Independence, but legal issues with the owner of magicJack forced the cancellation so that the league can try to regroup for 2013.
The links on this page did not work for me. Had to go to the main KYW site where they worked fine.
Great interviews with some great guests! Was really worthwhile listening.
Yeah, looks like the first link is the best to go to. Updated the post accordingly so those later CBS radio links are taken out.
